Creative problem solving techniques training

When are creative problem solving techniques useful?

  • If you see that your colleagues handle decision-making and problem-solving based on certain routines and without creativity;
  • If you believe that some of the decisions made by the team are done on hunches and decision makers and problem solvers don’t utilise available information consciously;
  • If decision making processes are not traceable and it would be important for participants to understand why and how a decision was made;
  • If there are new types of challenges facing a team, that need new types of problem solving approaches;
  • If you would like your team to learn and apply a structured decision making process;
  • If daily operations that need problem solving just happen on an ad-hoc basis, with a low rate of effectiveness;
  • If you need new tools to understand and analyse given problems and decision making situations and provide new approaches to coming up with a solution.

What does the training provide?

  • Integrates the scientific background of applied psychology with the practical disciplines of today; it provides tools and knowledge that can be applied immediately;
  • The program covers a wide array of thinking, emphasizing practical knowledge and integrating the strengths and own experiences of participants;
    • Psychological background of decision making and problem solving: daily traps and routines
    • Applying heuristics in decision making – advantages and challenges
    • Decision making and problem solving models: balancing intuition and structured approaches
    • Stepping out of the routine – how? Parameters and flexibility
    • The toolbox of applied tools: from 5W1H to route cause analysis and scenario planning
    • Valuing alternatives and making decisions
    • Alternative approaches: solution-focused possibilities

As a result of completing creative problem solving techniques training, participants will:

  • Understand typical thinking patterns, creative problem solving techniques and how those develop and work;
  • Be able to recognise their own routine-like workings and be able to apply alternative approaches;
  • Learn a structured decision making model and its application
  • Learn to use a wide array of practical problem solving and alternative generating tools;
  • Be able to make decisions in a more structured way and decide on alternatives, based on using various valuation processes;
  • Be able to think of problems and decision making situations from a solutions focussed approach;

“I really liked the training, because it was easy to follow, informative, creative and made me think of the subject. I also liked the scale and chair-switching games. The training has given me inspiration to change on certain things in terms of my time (self) management. Also, it has put this topic into a new perspective for me. I highly recommend this training for everyone. Thank you so much!”

“I would like to say a big thank you to Benedek. The session was very useful and informative.”

“I loved the style of the Trainer! It was so visible that he wants to help us, he paid attention to us fully, and wanted to ensure that we really understand the lessons. He indeed helped a LOT!”

“It was super, thank you very much! We could see that he has great knowledge around these topics and is well prepared. I especially liked that you used your own life examples e.g. around being late, and perhaps one can send a ‘hidden message’ to all those notorious late-comers. :)”

“Very professional, open-minded, nice trainer! Thank you for all the advices! :)”
